Arayik Harutyunyan visits the settlements of national minorities in Aragatsotn region
Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Council on National Minorities Arayik Harutyunyan today visited the settlements of national minorities in Aragatsotn region, met with residents, and got acquainted with the implemented and ongoing programs.
Governor of Aragatsotn region Sergey Movsisyan presented the programs implemented in 2018-2024. Accordingly, subsidy programs were implemented, within the framework of which 1 billion 330 million drams were invested, in the sidelines of state programs 8 billion 600 million drams were invested. Within the framework of the implemented programs, asphalting, gas supply, water supply, as well as construction of cultural and educational institutions were carried out.
Arayik Harutyunyan visited a modular kindergarten with a capacity of 144 places being built in Alagyaz, got acquainted with the construction works being carried out. The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister was also presented with the construction works of an educational complex with a capacity of 144 places in the village of Charchakis.
Within the framework of the visit, Arayik Harutyunyan also had meetings with residents of Alagyaz, Charkhakis, and Shamiram settlements.
In his speech, Arayik Harutyunyan noted that quite serious work is being done to address the issues of national minorities, emphasizing that the Government attaches great importance to the equal development of communities. "The investments that are made from the state budget are also for this purpose, we cannot have a strong state by developing only the capital or a few cities. And communities with national minorities give additional strength to our state. We are proud of this, we demonstrate the multicultural society that we have in the republic, and in order to work in that direction, we will also try to find new tools so that national minorities can realize their religious, cultural, educational rights and needs," said the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister and added that the purpose of the visit is to understand the problems on the spot.
