A presidential decree was issued on May 8, 2013 to re-appoint him to Minister of Education and Science.

Under a presidential decree signed on December 28, 2012, he was awarded Movses Khorenatsi Medal. He is Candidate of Medical Sciences, author of over two dozen research works and papers. He is officer of Army Reserve. In 1999-2003, he was chairman of the YSMU. In 2003 – 2005, he was chairman of Youth Branch of the Republican Party of Armenia. He was awarded the following medals: Garegin Nezhdeh (Armed Forces), For Cooperation with the Police and Enforcement of Public Order (Republic of Armenia Police), Gold Medal (Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs), Gold Medal (Yerevan City Hall), Honorary Award (Romania Foreign Affairs Ministry).
