PM Receives Georgian Defense Minister-Led Delegation

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation headed by Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli.

The Prime Minister welcomed Ms Khidasheli’s visit to Armenia, noting that visits of such a high level contribute to the development and strengthening of relations between the two neighboring States and peoples. Emphasizing that bilateral political and economic relations are on a high level, Hovik Abrahamyan singled out the cooperation in the field of defense, which may lead to enhanced security for the two friendly countries and the region, as a whole. According to the Prime Minister, cooperation in the spheres of defense and security is proving crucial and even imperative in the context of today’s challenging geopolitical situation.

Thankful for a warm reception, Ms Khidasheli underscored that Armenia and Georgia are building cooperative ties in the field of defense not only in bilateral format, but also on the sidelines of NATO peacekeeping missions. In this context, the Georgian Minister stressed the need to strengthen security and peace in the region.
The parties took the opportunity to exchange views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
