PM Receives Nairit Plant Workers

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a group of Nairit plant workers and once again listened to their problems. In particular, the parties discussed issues related to wage arrears and the re-commissioning of Nairit.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Government has done everything so that the factory staff could get another month’s salary later this month.

Coming down to the possibility of re-commissioning the plant, Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the World Bank experts have already conducted a study in this direction. The head of government suggested getting familiar with the findings of the above analysis and joining the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to discuss further action.

At the delegation’s initiative, the meeting looked at the possibility of settling wages using the proceeds of the sales of a portion of Nairit assets.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan said talks are currently underway to that effect.

In conclusion, the Premier emphasized that the Government is doing its utmost to tackle the existing problems.
